Healthy Beef Burger Recipe

  • 400g lean beef mince

  • 1 x egg

  • 1 x large onion, diced

  • 1tsp crushed garlic

  • 1TB Worcestershire sauce

  • 1TB extra virgin olive oil

  • 4 x multigrain bread rolls

  • 4 x slices low fat cheese

  • 1 x avocado

  • 2 x tomatoes, diced

  • 2 x carrots, grated

  • 2 x cucumbers, sliced

  • 1 x tin sliced beetroot

  • 1-2 cups baby spinach or lettuce

  • Mustard, to serve

  • Optional: 4 x fried eggs


  1. Mix together with your hands the lean beef mince, egg, onion, garlic and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Divide mixture into 4 equal patties.

  2. Pan fry patties in the olive oil on medium heat, a couple of minutes on each side, until cooked through.

  3. Meanwhile preheat grill on high, cut bread rolls in half and place a slice of cheese on each bottom half. Toast for 1 minute until golden and cheese has slightly melted.

  4. Spread the top half of the buns with mustard and avocado

  5. Stack patty, tomato, carrot, cucumber and beetroot in the middle of the roll. Enjoy!
